John Fuzek has been performing his own style of music, either solo or as part of a duo, around the Northeast and various points of the US for over 25 years. He began by performing the typical “cover-song/bar-gigs” but soon moved up to performing only his own original music. In 1989, he teamed up with Mary Ann Rossoni and formed the duo Fuzek•Rossoni. The duo quickly gained a large following and garnered quite a bit of success in the seven years they performed together.
During what was supposed to be a “short hiatus” from performing, John produced the Hear In Rhode Island Festival for many years, showcases and workshops for the Rhode Island Songwriters Association, worked with other festivals, helped produce a few CDs by other artists, hung out with his dogs; and yes, even wrote and recorded songs for a couple of compilation CDs.
John Fuzek is now back and performing as a solo act. His first solo, full length CD, “A Dog’s Age”, was released in May 2004. Recorded in March 2004, it is a collection of songs that reflect John’s passions, experiences and concerns. “A Dog’s Age”, was chosen by the Providence Phoenix as one of the BEST ACOUSTIC CDs in RI of 2004. John is currently working on material for his second solo CD.
