Pianist Juliana Osinchuk is one of today's most versatile artists performing internationally to great critical acclaim since age eleven when she made a surprise debut in Carnegie Recital Hall performing Beethoven’s Sonata op. 10 # 1 to rave reviews. She has continued to dazzle audiences and critics from Alaska to New York to Washington, D.C., from London to Amsterdam, and from Germany to Ukraine. After her formal recital debut at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, Musical America selected her as a "Young Artist to Watch.”
Among Juliana’s teachers were Nadia Boulanger, Rosina Lhevinne, and Nadia Reisenberg, and she received her formal education from the Conservatoire de Musique in Paris and the Juilliard School where she graduated with a bachelor’s, master’s and doctor of musical arts degrees.
As a champion of American composers, Dr. Osinchuk has premiered numerous works. In 1995, she was a recipient of a solo recitalist grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and presented solo recitals at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Seattle featuring works of three Alaska composers: John Luther Adams, Craig Coray and Philip Munger. She gave the European premiere of Lowell Liebermann’s 2nd Piano Concerto at the Kyiv Contemporary Music Fest. Most recently in March 2004, she received rave reviews from critics and audience alike for her performance of the world premiere of Philip Munger’s Piano Concerto with the Anchorage Symphony. read more
