A long standing member of the singer-songwriter scene in Philadelphia, Lizanne Knott has been captivating audiences throughout the Northeast and garnering attention from radio listeners across the globe. Well known locally for her floating vocals and lyrical juxtapositions, her apparent depth and transcending warmth make for an inviting mix of music which moves easily through dark poetic ballads - to soulful jazz - to folk driven rock.
Lizanne has performed at some of the most prestigious listening venues in the Northeast including: The Kimmel Center, World Cafe Live, Sellersville Theater, Media Theater, Sedgewick Performing Arts Center, Tin Angel, Chris's Jazz Club, Steel City CH, Chaplins Music Cafe, Club Passim, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Philadelphia Folk Fest, ASCAP Showcases, Sundown Concert Series and more. She recently returned from a first ever UK tour which brought sold out performances. A frequent featured artist on London's acclaimed Bob Harris show, BBC2 and other BBC stations, she also recieves airplay on AAA radio throughout the US. Her music has been used in independant films, documentaries and by national non-profit organizations.
Together with husband - GRAMMY Award winning producer/engineer, Glenn Barratt (whos credits include work with Sting, Elton John, Janis Ian, Eva Cassidy, Jill Scott, Susan Werner, Phil Roy) and a host of their friends ~ who happen to be some of the most renowned session players around ~ she merges her delicately soulful sound with some of todays most innovative music..

In August, I had the opportunity to see Lizanne Knott perform in Asbury Park, New Jersey. When she walked in, my mom and I introduced ourselves to her and said that we had heard her music on WWR. She was impressed because she didn't think that any of the Wheatheads were taking notice. In fact, she hadn't been on WWR since she sent her CD to Talkeetna. Anyway, it was a really amazing night. She truly is an amazing person, and I'll be seeing more of her in the near future. If she comes to your area, definitely check her out. You won't be disappointed. -Mistermaps529
