Lora Mahaffey has been a closet singer her whole life, but started singing "out loud" 2 1/2 years ago at the insistence of her husband and some nagging girl friends.
After lots of lessons and many gigs with the Derry Aires, an awesome a capella folk group, she released the CD "At Last," a bluesy/slightly latin spin on some classic standards, going back to her roots of jazz and torch songs. Lora is also a working mixed media artist and an award winning baker. She appeared on the Food Network and won one of the "Challenge" competitions in 2005, coming away with a $10,000. prize.
She has lived and worked in many interesting places including the British Isles, Italy and Alaska. "I have blue eyes and blonde hair, everything else is subject to change without notice. Well, maybe even the hair." She currently lives in Alaska and Virginia.
