Lynn Patrick’s newly released album, On the Wind, won an international award from the Independent Music Awards 2007. Sponsored by Border Bookstores, judges included Peter Gabriel, Cindi Lauper, Suzanne Vega, Wynonna, David Grisman, Patti Loveless and many others. On the Wind was also nominated Best Acoustic Album of the Year 2006 with KUNC radio, 91.5 and Best Instrumental Album of the Year 2007 with the Indie Acoustic Project. Patrick’s first instrumental CD, Winnie’s Guitar also won the Independent Music Awards in 2002. Judges included Tom Waites, Meshell Ndegeocello and Wilson Pickett. On the Wind is being played weekly on XM radio and all three of Patrick's albums are being used for transitional breaks on NPR's All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Talk of the Nation, and Living on Earth.

Lynn’s musical career has spanned twenty years. She’s showcased her music at the South By Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas; has opened concerts for the likes of Dan Fogelberg (Red Rocks) and Karla Bonoff (Boulder Theatre); has been a featured performer at New York’s Bitter End, Bluebird Cafè in Nashville; performed at Colorado’s Chautuaqua Auditorium, Denver's Swallow Hill, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, Taste of Colorado Festival, Cherry Creek Arts Festival and many other prestigious venues and events locally and nationally

Patrick´s acoustic instrumental songs are uncommonly catchy and unpredictable. You may find her recordings in the "Folk" bin; then again, certain tracks sound right at home on a jazz station. She can flatpick with the best of the country/bluegrass fingerpickers -- and when she opened for grammy award winning new age pianist Peter Kater, Lynn´s music was a perfect fit for his audience.

Despite the diversity of styles, a common thread runs through all of Lynn’s songs: every one of them has an uncanny knack for uplifting the environment. A featured writer of a local women´s journal wrote: "Swimming with dolphins must feel something akin to experiencing the emotional dimension of Lynn Patrick´s music." Yet another reviewer called her music "… joyous whimsy, as uplifting and happy as star gazing." That´s because Lynn´s music unpretentiously but unmistakably conveys a sense of soaring freedom -- that sensation in the region of your heart that reminds you of being a child and swinging really, really high, until the chains slackened and you knew you could fly.

Lynn Patrick was born and raised beside a lake amidst the orange groves of central Florida. She was 16 when she began teaching herself to play guitar. Two years later, she was writing original music and performing in local clubs, arts festivals and colleges. She continued to perform in Tallahassee, supporting herself with her music while pursuing a humanities degree at Florida State University. After graduating, she went on to play professionally in Boston until moving to Colorado in 1984.
