Matt Ramsey is an exciting new singer- songwriter from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Matt writes and performs his original songs straight from the heart! With his unique musical stylings and hungry vocals, Matts songs tell stories straight off the streets of small town AmericaIn late October of 2002 Matt brought his soulful rockin� country sound to the streets of Nashville and single handedly set them ablaze, subsequently raising the bar for all other singing/songwriting hopefuls. Along with his regulation acoustic Larivee guitar Ramsey has managed to win the hearts and minds of every audience member for which he has performed.
Matt's own words:
Buchanan, Virginia is my home town. It is pronounced "buck-han-nun." Obviously, it is a really small town and its where I spent the first 18 years of my life. Long-haired, kicking and screaming to get the hell out. When I was 14 I found love in a beat up Yamaha acoustic guitar that had been collecting dust in my closet. I've been writing songs and playing in bands ever since. One thing led to another and I ended up in Nashville. Now I some how landed a gig where they pay me to write songs. I'd be doing it anyway... but they give me money now. So I'm just grinding away trying to make the best music I possibly can, and I'm having a blast.
