SATORU's music is Pop/Rock Music with World Music flavors (especilly Bazilian, Cuban, and Caribbean), featuring great singing and guitar sound. Years of singing, playing, and listening to all genres of music (Classical, Jazz, Funk, Rock, Pop, World Music) have made his music truly unique. He also follows the latest trend of Pop and Rock Music in Japan, where he was born.
His lyrics reflect the influence of Buddhist philosophy. (He doese not belong to any religious group, but he has a M.A. in Comparative Religion.)
Besides being a solo artist, SATORU is a singer for one of the best San Francisco progressive rock bands, THE THUNDERS.
He also is a co-founder of the best and biggest Manga and Anime publisher in the U.S.A., Viz Media. Now, he is a part-time executive consultant for the company, dedicating most of his time to music..
