Tim was born the fifth of seven children in a small central Massachusetts mill town. He lived for a time in both New Hampshire and Maine. After graduating high school Tim headed off to college in the North Country of northern Wisconsin. He was in the area for nearly five years and still considers it his second home. It was while there that he first developed his skills as a writer and performer. After graduating college with a degree in Biology Tim hit the road as a musician throughout the northeast and Midwest. He toured extensively for several years playing in coffeehouses, at colleges and folk festivals throughout the region.
In the early 80’s Tim moved to Texas for what he thought would be a temporary stay in the Lone Star State. He met his wife Wynter while working part time as a teacher for the Houston school district as he continued to pursue music, now in Texas and surrounding areas. During this time Tim found another artistic outlet working in wood and designing homes. In 1983 he and Wynter founded Red Suspenders Timber Frames, Inc which still designs and crafts amazing timber framed structures around the country. Tim dropped out of music entirely in 1986 to work with his company. The demands of running a growing company did not allow him the time performing and writing require.
In November 2001 and again in November 2003 Tim and Wynter traveled to the Peoples’ Republic of China to bring home their daughters Marit and Mattie.
In 2000 Tim decided it was time to get back into music and he began work on the long delayed first album of his music. Winds of Change took nearly three years to complete and was released to excellent listener reviews in January 2004. It has been selling briskly on-line and has recorded sales throughout the US and Canada as well as in Europe.
