Audio magazines

WWR Audio Magazines can be heard on any MP3 player - even if their name doesn't begin with a lowercase "i". You can even listen to them on a computer!

Audio magazines are what most people call "podcasts". I (Jimbob) prefer the term audio magazine because:

1. Audio magazine is a better description of the geist behind subscription audio.
2. The term "podcasts" was coined with no thought by one of the biggest twits and technically incompetent morons on the internet today. It advertises and promotes a particular machine and company, neither of which are required for the long-term survival of audio on the web.
3. In 10 years, no one will remember what a "podcast" is. Although "audio magazine" won't be the term they use, a wider and more encompassing term for what audio subscriptions is will have been coined.
4. I don't like what podcasting has become, started out as, or who started it. It is generally characterized by gross, commercial, ego-centric, technical wannabe and short-sighted twits. I want to distance myself from mainstream podcasting as far as possible.

Current audio magazines available for download

It is okay with me if you stream these audio magazines now. Embedded players have finally become sophisticated enough to allow efficient playing and skipping of MP3s directly from a server. If you anticipate listening more than once though, it is polite to download the file to your computer where you can listen to it an unlimited number of times without using any of the WWR server's resources. Do that by downloading the MP3 by pointing to the Title, right-mouse clicking and choosing "SAVE" to save the MP3 file to your machine (or whatever procedure your computer uses). Thanks.

Content warning

The music-oriented audio magazines are generally suitable for the entire family. That may not be true with some of the other audio magazines, however. In particular, those in the Rants and Comedy categories are likely to contain adult language and content.
