| 4:53 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | I'm outta here. Everyone have a good evening. | |
| 4:46 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | Beats me, Mert - maybe it wouldn't correctly parse it at the end, or in the middle, or we were having unusual sunspot activity, or our increased humidity here, or... | |
| 4:34 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | GTG chop some rhubarb | |
| 4:34 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | Oh well! | |
| 4:32 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Scobe, sorry to hear your wife nixed your retirement. | |
| 4:32 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | mmmm!? | |
| 4:30 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | What was that about, 12? Shoulda worked. | |
| 4:28 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | OK by me Mert | |
| 4:27 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Well, he can hardly miss that. | |
| 4:27 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | Hmmmmmmm ... c-u-r-s-o-n-g wasn't working for me for a moment there ... | |

| 4:24 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | Reminder to Jim — | |
| 4:23 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Scobe, seeking permission to upload your photo cropped a little tighter, so we can see you better. If it's bluk, you can revert. | |
| 4:19 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |
| 4:16 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Sharpston, thanks for the tunage comin' up! | |
| 4:14 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | ||
| 4:08 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | Another respectable cover - I've always loved playing "Moondance" (even lounge-style!) | |
| 4:01 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Lounge-jazz Van Morrison coming up should be interesting. | |
| 3:51 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | MORE lounge-jazz Zombies! | |
| 3:43 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Rock on, Nutster. | |
| 3:39 pm | DogNut (talk/contribs) | I'm rockin out to the second half of last nights concert .... | |
| 3:16 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Yeah, the Zombies! Go, Ilona! Just watched the Buster B video—damn. | |
| 3:05 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | Very respectable cover of the Zombies, as well... | |
| 3:05 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | Ilona Knopfler covering Nick Drake. Cool. (River Man / Some Kind Of Wonderful / Ilona Knopfler) | |
| 2:55 pm | Chili (talk/contribs) | Gotta whole pyle of green/red onions in the garden eat them everyday!! | |
| 2:49 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | What kind of onions, Chili? | |
| 2:44 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | He has a hard time slowing those licks down | |
| 2:43 pm | Chili (talk/contribs) | ||
| 2:40 pm | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | You tell me, Mert - here's a video where Buster teaches a hot lick, up close and personal, and slowed down (you can skip the first 1:50, where he tunes) ... | |
| 2:32 pm | Mert (talk/contribs) | I wonder if Buster B's fingers look like a blur. (One Sad Clown / Just Us / Buster B Jones) | |
| 12:57 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Wow - that's a prettty good way to get emoticons to match common words people want to emote. But, alas, I must do some real work now. | |
| 12:55 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Oh goodie. That makes me quite ! | |
| 12:49 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Hehehe | |
| 12:48 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Okay - I'll be | |
| 12:48 pm | Cater (talk/contribs) | Good morning/afternoon, Jim. Better luck on your coffee today! | |
| 12:48 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | But I've got some templates helping out (not perfect, but better) on the software. I may make another massive set of updates today since I want to pre-build all the upcoming show pages. | |
| 12:47 pm | Cater (talk/contribs) | I tend to think of "newgrass" as kind of "pop" bluegrass... | |
| 12:47 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | I'm going to get to work too. Never again will I book 4 concerts (or is it 5) in the same month. This is supposed to be house concerts and I'm definitely too sedate in my old age to be throwing a party every week. :-) | |
| 12:45 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Wheat a fantastic bunch of discussions on this page. Pleasure to wake up this morning (er, now afternoon) and see what's been going on. Thanks everyone for all your help! | |
| 12:13 pm | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | NP Scobey. It amuses me to listen to the breadth of stuff we all like. Interspersed with new stuff. | |
| 12:08 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | Thanks DrDoug!! | |
| 11:18 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Thanks Kelli . I made some pretty big changes to the Discussions and News, let me know if I stuffed anything up. Going for real now! | |
| 11:15 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Good night, Ruben. | |
| 11:13 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | I think I'd better go to bed, I have to be up at 9am tomorrow. Have a nice day everyone! | |
| 11:12 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | I do like coffee, but I hope I have standards. Nescafe for example isn't coffee! Actually I'm hoping to take an extra credit course on coffee next year, I think it will be a pleasant distraction from programming and economics | |
| 11:10 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Finally listening to yesterday's rant. Poor Jim. Glad I don't drink coffee. | |
| 11:07 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | ||
| 11:04 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Just got my FreeBSD machine up and running again, listening to WWR on it! Taken a few mins ago, machine on the left: ![]() | |
| 11:04 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | I reckon the system you've got going right now Kelli is... to use eBay wording: "A++++++" | |
| 11:03 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Have a good day Hoonah | |
| 11:00 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | DD ![]() | |
| 10:59 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Yeah, "newgrass" is confusing. | |
| 10:59 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Your right Hoonah ,.. the background music gives porno away sure as the day is long. | |
| 10:58 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | I looked up a definition of NewGrass the other day when that came up. Stated that newgrass is a sub of bluegrass where non-traditional instruments are used in a blue grass theme or traditional instruments are used but in a non-traditional bluegrass theme. Left me | |
| 10:58 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | So true, Hoonah. | |
| 10:55 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | Some tags subjectivity remind me of a quote from a congressional hearing ways back "I can't define pornography but I know it when I see it" for us I think it is "hear it" | |
| 10:55 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | for example "God Will Thank You by Lori McKenna on Pieces Of Me" sure seems like a country song to me not a NewGrass Song | |
| 10:55 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Category:Solo_vocalist is an example of what I do after a decision is reached. I don't know if anyone ever looks at those pages for the definition though. | |
| 10:50 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | Exactly Kelli having a process to move it from discussion to application | |
| 10:46 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | I've been trying to keep track of recent discussions for that reason, Ruben. I'd love ideas on how to improve the process. | |
| 10:43 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | That's a fantastic point Hoonah -- this has been my only primary concern with making lots of decisions: making sure we all remember them and new people can find them. I guess that's the benefit of a wiki system, our decisions can always be looked up again, including edits and changes. | |
| 10:42 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Of course there is no way to enforce using the tags correctly and some will always be subjective. | |
| 10:42 am | 12-stringer (talk/contribs) | I saw that 3 change to a 5, Mert | |
| 10:41 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Definitions are on the tag/category page when available. IMO, anything not defined and potentially confusing should probably be discussed. | |
| 10:38 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | How do you plan on implementing "definitions" on tags moving forward? Is someone (we as a group) going to develop instructions on when it is appropriate to use each tag? Just throwing that out there. ![]() | |
| 10:23 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | For those that haven't voted, please see Category_talk:Band to decide if we should keep or delete the Band tag. | |
| 9:29 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Thanks Ruben,.. It brings out a lot of smiles from people of all ages. | |
| 9:25 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Doug, I just have to say right up front right now, I love your shirt! | |
| 9:22 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | BTW .. I took the Tags one back out | |
| 9:21 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | why would it ever work? tyhat is what is puzzling me | |
| 9:18 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Doug, force a refresh. | |
| 9:15 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | we should all see the same response shouldn't we? | |
| 9:15 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | in whats just played there are two clarinets again one with each.. | |
| 9:13 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | erm,.. there were ... honest | |
| 9:13 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Not anymore. "Tags" doesn't work. | |
| 9:12 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Mert... there are two clarinet tags one with Tag one with Tags | |
| 9:12 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Mert... there are two clarinet tags one with Tag one with TAgs | |
| 9:07 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Once you get used to using 2 computers with 2 monitors, going back to one while you reinstall the OS on another feels so limiting! That BSD box is my wheattuner, playing it on this machine just doesn't feel right! | |
| 9:05 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Listening to WWR using QuickTime on my Mac instead of Exaile on my FreeBSD box like I usually do. It feels all weird! | |
| 8:45 am | Kazookid (talk/contribs) | Mert, When you have an image big enough to crop to 150px you don't gain anything by cropping to less than 150px. You just make an image that doesn't fill the 150px space, the subjects are exactly the same size if you crop to 150, you are just getting a bonus of having a bit more of the subject in the image. Once you start cropping bigger than 150px, then you start getting images that appear smaller in the 150px space. | |
| 8:41 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Was able to tune in just now, turns out my dad was on his corporate VPN sucking all our bandwidth | |
| 7:46 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Hehe I pretend to know this stuff Kelli, but actually nearly all of it I learn as I go along | |
| 7:44 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Cool thanks Mert | |
| 7:43 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Impressive. I learn a lot from you. | |
| 7:40 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Er, unless you need to go to bed. I'm a mom, too. | |
| 7:40 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Thanks Kelli!! Finally got the Ask Mr Monkey link working!!! I created a phantom hidden heading above the Ask Mr Monkey link for the menu to latch on to. Seems to work! | |
| 7:39 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Hi, Ruben. Ordered up a show for you, so don't leave. | |
| 7:35 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Cool, Ruben. | |
| 7:34 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Missed that comment. A "Tags" template doesn't exist so it can't work. | |
| 7:30 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Gotta run Mert,.. I should be back later in the day... Maybe I'm wrong,... It's happened before. | |
| 7:26 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | I'm back; acupuncturist is seeing much improvement. Doug, Tags isn't working for me. What're you doing to get it to work? | |
| 7:21 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Thank you Doc! | |
| 7:10 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Happy Wednesday Ruben! | |
| 7:10 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | Wait, the link for Ask Mr Monkey still isn't working, sorry for that... troubleshooting now | |
| 7:09 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | G'day everyone, how are we all? :-). I've spend the evening fixing up the headings in the Discussions and News page, and added a new menu system to replace that gigantic Table of Contents that Jim (thankfully!) deleted. Working on some documentation now | |
| 6:27 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | I understand, Doug. I do the same thing. | |
| 6:25 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Thanks Kelli,.. I'm gonna confess that most of the time I press preview I end up pressing save and then having editiing conflicts. The I'm flustered. So I have adopted the tactic of saving and then chacking the page afterward, correcting when necessary. Turns out that Tags does work also. I will try to remember to use Tag since it seems to be the prefered key word. | |
| 6:22 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Doctordoug - you can press "preview" before saving a page. If the tags don't appear or are in red, there is probably a typo. | |
| 5:59 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Mert; we could needle you around here! | |
| 5:49 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | ||
| 5:48 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | {blush} sorry... and thanks. | |
| 5:47 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Out the door to get needled ... Everybody have a great day! | |
| 5:47 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | I've been correcting. Only Tag works. | |
| 5:28 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Mert... Has sombody been correcting my work or do both work? | |
| 5:20 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | Nice slideshow of the Seldovia Summer Solstice Music Festival this year. | |
| 5:17 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | ...not Tags. | |
| 5:17 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Doug, it's Tag, not t | |
| 5:12 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Okay, thanks. Seems like I tried that... | |
| 5:11 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Hmmm, I think 12er has used it. | |
| 5:11 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Never mind, found it. It's "12-string guitar". | |
| 5:10 am | Kelli (talk/contribs) | Hmm... I don't see it and I didn't delete that one. | |
| 5:09 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | I don't; Where is 12-er when we need him?! | |
| 5:01 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Anybody know the exact wording for a 12-string guitar tag? I can't get anything to work. | |
| 4:28 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | "Hop" isn't exactly accurate and more of a euphemism. | |
| 4:27 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | A bunch of untagged songs coming up. I have to hop in the shower but will try to be back to catch 'em. | |
| 4:26 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Hey, Doug! | |
| 4:25 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | There hadn't been much chi movement in a year of it, then the last time I had it done, after the Seattle trip and protocol, there was. So now she wants to start again and see what happens. (I'm my own most interesting experiment.) | |
| 4:24 am | Doctordoug (talk/contribs) | Morning all! | |
| 4:23 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Oh, and have good acupuncture, Mert; I've always been intrigued by acupuncture (never had it, though) | |
| 4:16 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Okay, I get it now. Duh. | |
| 4:12 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | But having the "no lyrics" tag preserves that section, which keeps the link from "what's playing" that allows you to tag directly working . . . | |
| 4:03 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Getting my first acupuncture treatment in a year today. Wo ho! | |
| 4:02 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Seems a little redundant to me. | |
| 3:58 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Oh, and I like the new (to me anyway) tag on instrumentals in the lyrics sections saying that because it's an instrumental it doesn't have lyrics. | |
| 3:56 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | And old timey. | |
| 3:54 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | And the Red Sox are playing the Twins. It's almost impossible to get tix to games but I managed to snag 'em last night from a colleague with season's tickets who couldn't go to this one, last minute! | |
| 3:53 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Or mis-tagged old-timey! This one (Scotch And Soda / Porch Music / Brick Road Ramblers) sure ain't old-timey! | |
| 3:51 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Beth, I'm glad you're catching the mistagged bluegrass songs. | |
| 3:47 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | G'morning, kids. | |
| 3:41 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | Boston vs. who? | |
| 3:36 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Me, I'm at work early because I'm going to a baseball game this afternoon! Wo ho! | |
| 3:31 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | Yeah. But working on CD shipping, accounting and now ripping and tagging CDs. So slow to respond. | |
| 3:23 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Mornin' wheaties. Anyone up? | |
| 12:16 am | Chris (talk/contribs) |
