CHRISSY BUDZINSKI
-BIOGRAPHY-
Introducing Chrissy, a Folk singer/songwriter whose style of music ranges from beautiful heartfelt ballads to upbeat and outrageous fun songs. Her warm crystal clear voice and awesome acoustic guitar playing will spell bound you. She’s truly a performer you won’t forget!
A native of Titusville, PA, Chrissy started playing guitar when she was twelve - writing her first song at fifteen. When asked about her music, she says “most of my music speaks of things I’ve experienced or seen, so hearing my music gives the listener some insight into my life”.
Chrissy moved to upstate New York in the early 1980’s and has been performing at many coffeehouses, bookstores, Pride Picnics and concert halls in the New York and Massachusetts area. Her biggest musical thrill to date was opening for “BETTY” at Paige Hall, and also opening for Cheryl Wheeler at the Eighth Step in Albany, New York. It was so exciting to be given the opportunity to meet and play on the same stage with them.
Her next CD will be out early part of 2008. Watch for her CD release parties, they will be posted on her myspace.
Chrissy is refreshing and unique. When seeing her in concert, be ready for an unforgettable show of great music and humor that lifts the spirit and takes you on a musical journey until the last note is heard.

| Happy Discoverer's Day...I guess. My husband calls it 'murdering entrpreneur day.' And he's Italian!
My song "Bingo Bus on the Trail of Tears" was written with Columbus Day in mind, and reflects contemporary life on the reservation in Cherokee, NC. It was released on my next-to-latest CD, which sold out (so I don't have any to send to WWR), but you can hear and download the song for free on my Myspace page. http://myspace.com/maggiecouncil
"Columbus ain't gone home for 500 years, now he drives bingo buses down the Trail of Tears.."

Hey, Wheatheads,
A week or so after my new CD charted on KPFT in Houston, Hurricane Ike hit. I sent them a bunch of CDs to help raise funds for what I'm sure are unbudgeted repairs. They're back on the air now, but I bet they could use help. Musicians who've aired there, it would be nice if you sent them some of your product for on-air fundraisers! Send to:

| == The Great Journey Begins ==
Unbelievable as it seems I am finally on the road to Florida. This has been a 2.5 year preparation.
Day 1 - Stoked for Tok
Made it all the way to Tok today ;). The road (and I use that word lightly) was a disaster and the beginning road which was good was in a fog / snow mix with high cliffs. Oh well no damage and a nice warm cozy room with a box o wine. |

| I lived in AK nearly 25 years but have, 5 years ago, moved back to my hometown in Indiana. I didn't want to leave, it was a family necessity, but I'm making the best of it, even though I'm so homesick for AK that I can barely breathe (no pun intended).
It's so blessed hot & humid down here, no wonder people seem to be sick everywhere I go.... they breathe the same air over and over again in their offices and homes. And, if by chance, they get to be outside, the air quality stinks, literally. I live for the Fall & Winter. Thank you for being here for me and for every person who is an Alaskan in their heart.
Whole Wheat Radio gives me back my connection to the Earth as nothing else can. It reminds me that AK is where I left my heart. If at all possible, I'll make it back home one day, even if it's only for a visit. Everyone needs to have a dream.... that's mine.
Well, October is half way over & it's camping time. Camping is my escape. Just the dog and me... can't wait. Just not looking forward to those darn late hungry snakes that are still hanging around in the leaves.
- Once Alaska is in yor blood, you'll never get it out. Here's a picture of a recent camping trip to help you through.

| Washington State Representative:
I am very concerned with the current mind-set with some of our government officials. Some of you have decided that I want, or need, to have even more of my nickel ‘shaved’ by the Fed in an effort to salvage the market from its perceived collapse. Nothing could be further from the truth. You do not have my backing in this decision.
I am very aware of the consequences of not jumping in and helping the market. I am also aware of what happens when our government steps in and ‘saves’ the common man from his problems—it’s been well documented in our histories, namely in France and Communist Russia. And using these two as more recent indications of what happens, it should be clear that this Bail Out is not only a bad decision, but more correctly it is an atrocity.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt decided he would use the federal government to help these United States to come out of the Depression. His efforts had some very positive results, only because the country was started in that direction, and because of the faith and hard work of the people following many years of living within a Depression. Many of those ‘short-term’ programs he designed and implemented are still with us today.
Backing this Bail Out is like supporting the little boy with his finger in the dike. It may feel good to cheer him on, to show solidarity with his hard work, but it does nothing to stem the eventual flood. We will all be able to see the cracks getting larger.
The Federal Reserve, backed 100% by our government, have stripped all reality from the dollar, and have based the dollar on nothing more than the debt they can load upon the shoulders of We the People. Adding to that debt won’t help.
This Bail Out reminds me of the attempts to stop the forest fires that occurred from time to time in Yellowstone National Forest, Wyoming. For a long time the forest became drier and more deadly for anyone attempting to camp there. This continued for years until lightning struck, and a massive conflagration happened. Everybody feared for the Park, for lives and property—just as people fear now for their country, lives, and property—until it was discovered that the only way the forest could renew itself was using the fire as a catalyst. Life couldn’t renew within the forest if the ground and seeds weren’t heated in just such a blaze.
Our national debt and the whole world-wide economy has been using the feeble attempts of men to try and correct and compensate for the flux that naturally occurs in anything. Daily over the past few years, it has become more and more difficult, and the promises of such things as Social Security have been shown to be mere cotton candy-they look and sound and smell good, but there isn’t any substance when one goes to bite into it. When this happens over an extended time, the environment that is being unnaturally controlled will swing way out of proportion to compensate for the stagnation that has been forced upon it. It happened in Rome, it happened in the early 1800s in France, and it happened on a certain Tuesday in 1929 here in these United States, with the repercussions of it felt ‘round the world. It’s going to happen again. Please, don’t make it worse for all of the people who have elected you to represent us.
Kevin Decker, Husband, Father, Son of Liberty
- Anybody watching what is happening in DC should see some startling similarities between today and 1929. This will be 'allowed' to go, with many attempts at global central banks capturing more of the local banks, S&Ls, and credit unions. The next thing we should see is a really good ramp up for another war, or a ramped up 'thrust' in the ongoing conflicts. Is anybody else truly terrified?

| HI KIDS!
TN. FOLK singer here with WYO blood kin.
History:
Born at a very early age in a log cabin with no electric, why we had to
e mail by candle light until TVA flooded our valley and gave us some juice!
Started guitar love in 1962 and remain true to her today.
Soloed in the mid 1960s all over the East Tennessee Valley and
in the shadow of the National Park.
Added a gal singer for the 82 Worlds Fair, then went back to me, myself and I.
In 2000 teamed with a life long friend who moved back to the mountains from
the wilds of Memphis. Music was a cross between jug band/folk/country/made up
and it worked well enough to make gas money and pay for strings.
In 2006 became a founding member of The Mountain Folk Reunion (http://themountainfolkreunion.blogspot.com/)
which started out rather pure and has now expanded. Close your eyes and see if you can hear Greenback Dollar woven into Love Potion Number 9? CAN YOU? If so then you would love The Mountain Folk Reunion.
Oh since 1970 my two day jobs have been radio (morning guy for years) TV (PBS and GOD HELP ME a SHOPPING NETWORK)
and three books that just need a publisher. |
