A chat discussion about how truly rich we are in the things that are important inspired this page. We have copied our posts and put them here for a start. Please add to it as often as you would like, and come back often to have your spirits lifted by your Wheathead friends.

We should take a little time to be grateful everyday. Ah, that reminds of those words to a song that I love to hear Sam Bush do. . . Take a little time for sunshine, take a whole lotta time for love, take time to praise and thank heaven up above, take your life as it may come cuz boy it'll be gone soon, take a little time for HOWLIN' at the moon. - LuAnna

I am grateful for the fact that I have a fast enough Internet connection that I can:

  • Log in to work from home this morning and work in my jammies
  • Listen to WWR while I work (which I can't do when I'm physically there)
  • Chat while I work ... er ... I think I'd better go back and work!

An exercise that helps lift a blue mood is to list things you are grateful for, like 50 things. Usually by the end of the list you'll find your mood lifted.

good morning all from fox island. beautiful misty rain this morning as i crossed over the bridge and into the race of rats trying to hold on to my little part of the country. on these mornings though i realize why i made sure my boys had the chance to grow up on the country as i was lucky enough to experience. we were definately "dirt" poor in material goods but thanks mom and dad for having the old farm house with an evergreen forest to the back of us and a secluded salt water beach for playing out front. Heck, we could see mount rainier on a clear day. oh yeah and a baseball field front yard with plenty of weeds and dirt patches so nobody would yell at us for being kids and ripping up the few areas that remained green in summer. come to think of it, we were very rich! peace. Bergie

I am ever-so-grateful that I have lived long enough to find out that everything that I thought was perfectly lame was actually perfect in leading me home. Fine-line

I am Grateful to Jim and Esther for putting Whole Wheat Radio together...and I don't just mean the radio station. I mean this whole community. --Bis 16:57 15 Apr 2006, BLT

  • I am very grateful that Jim and Esther have created this place of beauty and have allowed all of us to become a part of it. I'm grateful for this island of warmth, this place of dreams and music, this place of friendship and fellowship. I miss it when I'm not here.
  • I am very grateful that Jimbob is improving and will continue improving. With so many who love him, so many who wish him well, he will heal.
  • I'm very grateful that menopause is making me crazy because this seems to be allowing me to tap into a creativity I never knew I had.
  • I am grateful for change, both good and bad, because it keeps me on my toes.
  • I am grateful for my good friends and family who continually forgive me my many, many faults.

I am grateful for chocolate and the health food stores. Without them I'd be a cranky beeeoch and not able to appreciate the awesome music here. Now I'm so addicted to the great indie musicians I hardly need the chocolate! And wildflowers. And blue Colorado Skies. And better vets than there were 20 years ago. - PTW

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." ~Albert Schweitzer

I'm grateful to you guys for making Whole Wheat Radio happen! I'm grateful for the chance you provide for independent artists! And mostly I'm grateful for the viewpoints you both openly share about life, the universe, and everything! Its nice to hear voices out there that aren't suppressed by the mainstream, right-wing forces in control of most things today! Radio Free Wheatland, I salute you! - Catawba

I am grateful someone/everyone took it upon themselves to create this page and contribute to it.

I am grateful this software exists, that I didn't have to write it, and that it was made available without cost or commercialism. I am grateful there are so many things I enjoy doing and that I've had the gift of time to experience them. Jimbob 23:07, April 18, 2006 (AKDT)

Hey there everyone, today I'm grateful for:

  • Dr Tan, Dr Fuad and the nurses of Gleneagles Hospital tirelessly keeping my mum alive
  • The food on the table every day, the money in the bank account
  • Telephone calls to my sister and parents living now in Kuala Lumpur
  • Whole Wheat Radio
  • Mediawiki software (for my future site revision and for WWR)
  • Jimbob and Esther for making such a warm and friendly online community based on fresh and original music possible

I am grateful for moments like this:

One day an "at home" Dad was feeling a little down after not landing a sought-after job. He was pushing his little girl on the swing in the backyard when she suddenly asked, "Dad, how come you are so quiet?"

"Dad is just feeling a little sad because he didn't get the job he wanted"

"But you already have a job", she said. "What job is that", the father replied. "Swinging me", she said. "Kiddo", he said. "I love to push you in the swing but it doesn't pay very well."

"Oh", she said. "Well... you don't have to pay me." Just what I needed!

"It is just that we should be grateful, not only to those with whose views we may agree, but also to those who have expressed more superficial views; for these also contributed something, by developing before us the powers of thought." Aristotle

"When you are grateful fear disappears and abundance appears." Anthony Robbins

I appreciate both of these quotes about being grateful. Jane
