I fished five seasons in Bristol Bay, home to the world’s biggest remaining salmon runs. This ballad is about the sinking of the F/V 90% Angel – a boat that went down while we were within ear-shot of their “May Day” distress call. Every man in the fleet of a thousand or more boats was riveted to the radio. [1]
