Stephen Bennett - BMI
In 1997 I was invited to play at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville and heard, for the first time, a guitarist from Australia named Tommy Emmanuel. I immediately had to go lie down in my room and reflect upon the possibility of my continued future as a guitarist. While contemplating the view from my balcony, I went back and forth between thinking I'd aim for the concrete or for the grass below. Since then, we've become friends and although I have become a bit more used to his phenomenal playing, it's still unnerving. This tune was concocted in an effort to capture a bit of his energy.
(Solo Merrill guitar in standard tuning).
