Trivia, story behind the song, etc.
A few years ago, I read this amazing book called 'Isaac's Storm' by Erik Larson. It's a historical account (told as a story) of a devastating hurricane that hit the Galveston Coast in the early 20th century. It's a tremendous read and I highly recommend that everyone check it out.
After finishing this book in the wee hours of the morning, I walked upstairs to my living room and wrote this song. At the time, the song came specifically from reading that book. But, since Hurricane Katrina hit and with the situation with the current US administration, this song has certainly taken on some different interpretations, at least for me.
