Lyrics
Doesn't ask for much,
He's a special one.
Always giving all he's got
Guess his work is never done.
Doesn't change his tune,
Life don't get him down.
Count on him he rules the night
And a derby is his crown.
Ordinary night,
Twinklin' and a blinkin' like a northern star.
Extraordinary Guy,
Lived his life with all of his heart.
Got to make you smile
When you hear him play..
Life don't last forever, no,
But he's here with us today.
Ordinary night,
Twinklin' and a blinkin' like a northern star.
Extraordinary Guy,
Lived his life with all of his heart.
I can see his face
Sparkle in his eye
And though he had to leave this place
May his spirit never die
Ordinary night,
Twinklin' and a blinkin' like a northern star.
Extraordinary Guy,
Lived his life with all of his heart.
Joe Young
Trivia
A week or two after coming home to Bellingham, I played guitar at a blues jam. A man wearing a derby and playing fiddle and keyboards was something extraordinary. As we played he would look over and smile at me with a kind of sparkle in his eye. Smiles on the faces in the crowd told me they were right there with him. I had the pleasure of playing with Guy Mulford many times and I always found him to be passionate and full of life.
