Spell Check
From WWR
Firefox
Hey Wheatheads, Want a spell check for chat? How about one for writing wiki pages? Yeah, watching Ms. Divvie create new, unheard of spellings for words in the chat is all part of the essence of Whole Wheat Radio, but if you are using Firefox 1.5.x, I have an extension just for you, but it's not listed in the general plugins for Firefox! An in-line spell checker called SpellBound.
Here are the links to the resources you need to install:
Install the Development SpellBound XPI. (Open directly, don't open in new tab) *You may also have to tell your browser to allow downloaded content to install.
Install your languages dictionary file (here is the US English file).
Restart Firefox.
Right-click in a text box (that contains some text), and select "Check Spelling..." from the menu.
Underneath the Language menu, select your chosen language.
Enjoy!
Note: The version located at http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/install is for Firefox version 1.0.x and earlier. For Firefox version 1.5.x, use the link above.
Internet Explorer
There is also a spell checker for Internet Explorer on Windows, called IESpell.
Safari for Mac
If you want to check your spelling in Safari, you don't need to download or install anything! Just highlight the word, [CTRL] [MOUSE CLICK] and check the spelling :). This is a built-in feature of OS X so should be available in most programs.
