Purpose

This is a page where you can report or discuss various bugs in the Whole Wheat Radio software. Note that I will use this as a resource when I sit down to program. Do not expect any immediate action on any of these items. Please be as specific and clear as possible (when needed) and if you can take a screen-snapshot of weird behavior, please provide one. Thanks.

Song - Image refresh out of synch

I've got a question about the way "currently playing" refreshes: It may be my system (and its cache), but often (almost every time) the artist's photo or the description below are out of synch, meaning the photo stays when the song changes or vice versa. If I refresh the chat it gets fixed. This has been happening for a couple of weeks at least. aex (talk) 09:49, April 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Artist Images Not Displaying

There seem to be a number of Artist Pictures that refuse to display in the Currently Playing location on chat pages and in the Reports such as Last 25, Next 50, etc. These images have definitely been uploaded and display properly on the Artist's Artist Page, but not in the above locations. examples of this would be David M. Bailey and a band called Strungover!. Kazookid (talk) 06:35, April 3, 2008 (AKDT)

I believe anything with punctuation is using two different photos. Kelli (talk) 09:03, April 5, 2008 (AKDT)

Avatar extensions

Not sure if this is a bug, but I noticed avatars don't work if the extension is upper case (JPG). For some reason the system sometimes defaults to upper case and this may be confusing new users. Kelli (talk) 06:25, April 17, 2008 (AKDT)

Anonymous (non-logged in) users and Artist skins

While testing user-defined Artist skins in a variety of browsers (IE 6.0.2800.1106, Maxthon 1.6.1, Firefox 2.0.0.14, Netscape 7.2, Netscape 8.0.3.3, Mozilla 1.7.13, Flock 1.1.2, Opera 9.27), I discovered that if I was not logged in and displayed an artist page, clicking on any of the "Other skins for artist pages" links would actually open and display the template, rather than applying the template to the artist page. Once I logged in (within each individual browser, regardless of number of simultaneous browser sessions), the "skins" templates were applied properly. When I mentioned this to Jim in the Chat, he applied a "quick fix", which allowed the display of the page utilizing the "default" template, regardless of "skin" link selected, and his comments were: "Non-logged in users share the userid number of 0. Since I cannot record the skin being used for user #0, I go to default. I would have to pass via session variables or URL which skin is being used. Not good on URL because of bot issues. But it should be done one way or another since probably 90%+ of our total traffic is non-logged in users." Personally, I think this is a more-than-adequate (and, perhaps, even elegant) solution, as I feel that if a user is not logged in, the default should be expected. --12-stringer (talk) 14:58, May 2, 2008 (AKDT)

wwr_song_keywords_link

In case you don't see Firewalk's comment in chat, wwr_song_keywords_link isn't always working. Not every song page has 4 sections. Kelli (talk) 14:08, May 8, 2008 (AKDT)

I did see the comment and think I responded. (Nice to be able to go back to various days of chat or do a Search and be able to find it even though I'm not going to bother on this one.) I suspect it will be dealt with when we convert to a new standard song page format like the artist's page. I tried to find a quick fix to make it go to a particular section by name rather than by number (it defaults to section 4 for Tags and if there are more or less than 3 == sections == before it, it will screw up) but didn't find anything. Whois url is broken on the stats page

Jim, I tried following the code through to see what might be causing the problem, but it doesn't jump out at me. It looks like somehow it's not getting transformed into "wiki" markup and is just being passed through as text. stats page' Obviously it's not urgent. DogNut (talk) 17:08, May 11, 2008 (AKDT)

Artist bios

An extra period was put in the bio sections of artist pages. Kelli (talk) 11:30, May 13, 2008 (AKDT)
