WordPerfect document
I would like to upload an essay I wrote in Word Perfect format and make it available on my homepage on WholeWheatRadio. How do I accomplish that? The upload system will not accept a .wpd file billybones
- Hi Billybones. I've only ever uploaded jpg and gif files and I do not see a list of acceptable formats anywhere. My guess is you would have to upload it to your own site (if you have one) and link to it. Another option is to copy and paste the text of your essay into a new page here. You'd probably have to correct some formatting problems with that option. Kelli (talk/contribs) 05:53, October 1, 2008 (AKDT)
- I was hoping someone else might weigh in on this one other than Kelli or I but ... the best laid dreams of mice and men.
Anyway, yeah, what Kelli says is valid. There may be another way though - when you SAVE your document in Word Perfect, there is probably an option to save it in TEXT format. That will remove any bolding, italics, special fonts, etc. but should leave the document as a text file that you could swipe over, copy and then paste in the big edit space on your wiki page. Just another option available. Whatever way you figure it out, I'd sure love to read your essay. Hope these answers help that happen. Jim (talk/contribs) 13:34, October 1, 2008 (AKDT) (P.S. Anyone else want to give an answer?)
- I'm not sure other than how Jim says and just use TEXT format. I've used simple html in some things I've written on the wiki. I guess you could either use the wiki-way and use headers, sections, sub-sections, etc. or just simple html markup. The only thing I can offer for an example is a very old simple little thing I had on my talk page entitled Tribute to the Dillo ...not sure if it will help at all.
