Template talk:Weather

This template includes two variables and you must find the code for the first variable on the weatherunderground.com website.

Find your location at weatherunderground.com.

Go to the "weather sticker" page for your location. Find the country/state/city part in the URL for your location in the sticker code.

Example: US/AK/Talkeetna. (See the screen shot below.)

On the page you want the weather to appear add the wiki template and its variables.

1. Click the "Edit" link on the page.

2. In the edit box type

{{Weather|

(Open template tag, template name, and pipe for first variable.)

3. Type the code you found on the weatherunderground.com page. You need it to look like this,

US/AK/Talkeetna

No slashes before or after.

(First variable.)

4. Type a pipe, then the name of your location, followed by two curly brackets to close the template tag. Like this,

|Talkeetna}}

(Pipe for second variable, second variable, close template tag.)

All put together it looks something like this:

5. Click "Show preview". If a weather graphic for your location doesn't display, chances are the first variable needs adjusting.

6. Click "Save page" when you are done.

You can use this Weather template on any page.
