I did an interview with singer-songwriter David Francey on July 31st, 2006. (Whole Wheat Radio comes up near the end of the interview.) But who is Phillip, you ask. Well...

After wandering miserably through the hollow halls of academia for too many years, Phillip decided to make a movie. So he did. The movie didn't turn out the way he hoped it would, but he enjoyed the filmmaking process so much that he gave up academics and now works in the film industry in St. John's, Newfoundland. (By the way, "understand Newfoundland" should rhyme.) Phillip often works as a sound recordist, but really, he does a little bit of everything and he likes it that way. Someday he's going to make another movie. Just don't ask him when. ("When I'm good and ready, goddamn it!") He has a website called Mud Songs where he posts film commentary, an informal resumé and a record of whatever project he happens to be working on at the moment. Most of the film commentary is posted on Steel White Table, too. Phillip's life is in Newfoundland and he has no plans to leave any time soon. But he is originally from Nova Scotia and misses it everyday because he loves the land and the ocean of Nova Scotia like no other place on earth. Phillip isn't married but his better half is Jenny Higgins and they're in it for the long haul. Despite the fact that he doesn't like cats, Phillip and Jenny have 2 of them: Nigel and Winston. Nigel is super cool and laid back. Winston is a total spaz. Phillip is a moderate drinker of single-malt scotch (Lagavulin and Laphroaig); his favourite film director is Krzysztof Kieslowski; he enjoys playing games like Settlers of Catan whenever he gets a chance; he watches too much original generation Star Trek when he should be watching good movies or reading good books; and he spells his name with 2 Ls, not 1. What else do you want to know?

End of third-person crap. Danny Schmidt sent me some Whole Wheat Radio wheat seeds with a CD I ordered from him during a house concert. I planted the seeds and took some photos. Exciting.

That's it. See ya!
