Hi Denali, Thanks for your message. Well, actually it's been in the minus teens here for the past few days in the morning, with the wind chill. It can get this cold here because we are up 7,000 ft at the end of the Rockies. Last night they predicted it would be between -1 and -11. Right now it's +14 so it's warming up some. My studio is comfortable with about 63 in here, so I am ok, but the rest of the building is still without central heat so we are hoping that no pipes will burst. We are not like Talkeetna has gotten with -35 degrees! wow Anyway, thanks for your concern. Hope you are doing well. I sent in a program suggestion to AK Radio about doing a program on the Native Alaskan crafts up there. I have an Alaskan basket and love the seal gut rain coats. They did a show on a suggestion I sent them about that gallery in Anchorage that helps homeless, alcoholics and mental disturbed natives get back on their feet and their art. I had seen the artists down here in Santa Fe from that gallery and thought it was a very noble effort and apparently so did they, so did a show on one of the female artists from that group. Wildflower

Denali, I have been puzzling over that wildflower, myself. I only took that one picture, so I don't have one showing any other part of the plant. It appears that the top of the plant has been cut off. I could probably get an id from a botanist in the Queen Charlotte islands or even mainland BC. It looks like it is in the legume family.
