Hey, Firewalk. "A thing or too" should be "two." I don't know what the etiquette is, but it's probably something you should change.--Mert

Hey Firewalk - welcome! I saw you edited the main page discussion with ::ldaisy ... was that just goofing around or was it supposed to do something? I'm so new to wikis that I don't know double colon is supposed to format as. Thanks if you have a chance to help me on that. --Jimbob 18:29, 15 March 2006 (AKST)

Hi Jimbob, Just trying to plant something in the garden. -- Firewalk

Gotcha. And by now I've learned that colons are used to indent as I did on this entry. It's 5:34AM and I've got to get some sleep!

Hey Firewalk, I saw that someone edited the Grateful page, I didn't look to see if was you but since it was your part, I took my other heading out and tried to make your name for the section look like . . well, go see if I am on the right track. I completely took out the Grateful Wheatheads part that i had originally named it. i think we have different visions so I am bowing to you and trying to make it fit in. i know you didn't want me to call the page just Grateful but i was thinking simple is good here. So the second subtitle, in place of responses, is as you would have it. i agree that it is much better. LuAnna 17:27, April 15, 2006 (AKDT)

Sorry about the inelegance on your user page, FW. I'm still pretty slash and burn at this stuff! Cate 23:38, April 22, 2006 (AKDT)

Summer Concert

Hello, I had to leave the concert last night. I saw your Chat mentioning you recorded it. Any chance I could get a copy? Thanks, ElmasnoJ

Got It

Phillip was very accomodating, it's at http://mudsongs.org/temp/wwr-july28-2006-concert.mp3. He asked the availability of his recording not be advertised publicly, but freely given to those who ask privately. The volume (amplitude) is a little low, but at least it's complete. I recorded JimBob's replay Sunday 7/30/06, the volume is better, but I used 64kb MP3 format instead of Phillip's 128kb, and there were 2 interruptions due to hard disk problems on JimBob's PC. If anyone wants my recording of the replay, I'll post it somewhere... Thanks again, ElmasnoJ

House concert at BlueRidge's

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing you on the webcast of the concert at BlueRidge's yesterday! Thanks!

FYI: I started a page about the concert, but didn't add much detail. Rich Baumann House Concert at BlueRidge's

Bravo Firewalk!!!

What a tremendous gift you give! Thank you for keeping music alive in the hearts and hands of the children knocked by Katrina. Very beautiful! I'm deeply touched by your largess. Fine-line 10:57, February 12, 2007 (AKST)

Requesting Mable Pike

I hope you liked that track of hers you requested. I love it! She is a great storyteller about her life in Alaska. Denali 16:38, March 27, 2007 (AKDT)

Similar to a Wheatgram

Leaving a message on a user's talk page is similar to the old Wheatgrams. Type your message on the person's talk page, when they log onto the chat (or refresh the chat) a message box will pop up near the top of the chat screen with a message notification.

Hi there Firewalk

You are very welcome. Peterdale I do miss chatting with music lovers, however. :)

Sets are cool

You are quite welcome... I am finding the set things very cool. Doctordoug (talk) 05:01, May 9, 2008 (AKDT)

Today's Topic

I removed your "Today's Topic" question and pasted it here for you to perhaps add later for the following reasons:

1) People "tag" one another for the next day's topic. I was tagged to add today's topic. It took me by surprise when I brought up the page at 7:30AM my time and found you'd already posted something.

2) I considered leaving your topic up, but since I was asked to post a question and I spent a good part of yesterday thinking about what to post, I decided your question can wait.

3) If by chance you were impatient because a new question hadn't been posted, please keep in mind that people on this site are from all over the world and are in different time zones. It would be respectful, particularly if you know the person tagged is 4 hours behind you, to give them a chance to wake up at a reasonable hour to post the question.

Thanks for your cooperation. Jim (talk) 07:35, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)

What is respect?

Fri June 6, 2008

What a great question! To me, respect is the consideration you show for another person's position, views, and/or values. This consideration is demonstrated by how you interact with that person. As the father of a 20-year old son, I've learned (all too painfully) that respect is something that cannot be demanded, even if well earned or deserved. I've also learned (all too painfully as well on occasion) that it is easy to inadvertently disrespect someone when you are not familiar with their views and values, blindly assume that their views and values are the same as yours, or assume that they will know when you are being serious and or just kidding around to get a laugh. -- Kimchifox

A hit song sung by Aretha Franklin. Bycracky

I have been talking about this with a group of first and second graders. One boy told us, "If there was enough respect, there couldn't be any more war!"
