Scouts

I just passed my second Star rank board of review, I'm the senior patrol leader, arrowman for the order of the arrow, and just got back from the Moose-Deshka float trip. Also, I just got a package from my Grandfather with some things from his scouting career-Boys Life magazines from 1962 to 1972, some steel pennies, coins from the seventh national jamboree, old sock garters, and some other various items! HAH! that was so last year. I just went to a camp in Idaho, got several weird things, and got my life rank! I'm happy. I also worked at Camp Gorsuch earlier this summer as a CIT (Counselor in Training) and have a position open to me if I wish to come back in 2008, so I am happy.

School

I'm out of seventh grade, in NJHS, (National Junior Honor Society) and that's it. (Man, I really need to update this....) I'm halfway through 8th grade, in Jazz Band, Yearbook Club, Battle of the Books, NJHS, Honor Orchestra, Orchestra, and Choir. Jazz Band is going to Fairbanks April 11, 12, and 13! I'm skipping school! (WOW. I'm really slow at updating this...) I AM NO LONGER A MEANINGLESS MIDDLE SCHOOLER! I AM A NINTH GRADER! Oh dear. wow. I am a ninth grader. ugh. when is Christmas Vacation?

concerts and performances

I'm performing at the Anchorage Folk Festival in the Hopper Family Band, Sunday at 4:00 on the 28th of January, and my Mom is on at 9:00 the 26th, a friday. that's really old.... I have a choir performance in May, and a honor orchestra performance for new NJHS members in May, too. Wow. I did that last year, too. I have a choir performance on October 12, 6:00 and 8:00 at Chugiak High School for anybody that wants to come. I think it is five dollars at the door, but don't quote me on that. Also, for anybody that is in Toronto, Canada sometime after April, please come and hear my Choir compete at some festival!

acupuncture

I just put this on because everybody else's site that I've seen has one

I got acupuncture once. They did the cupping thing, and the lady said that it would leave purple circles on my back for a week or maybe two. It took about two months before all of the bruises were gone. ::grrr -- Los 20:52, August 1, 2006 (AKDT)

Hunting Story

Hi Fishfood! One of my flight attendants told me about last summer's trip to Alaska today. He and his brother were both going elk hunting, and had hired a Bush pilot to fly them into a remote lake they had been to before. The pilot returned after a week, and they had both bagged a huge elk. He was concerned that he might not be able to make it out of the valley with both of them, all their gear, and the two elk. But Bob, one of the brothers, told him that they had both gotten elk there the year before, and the pilot had flown them out of there, in the same sort of plane. Reluctantly, the pilot loaded their elk, their gear, and the two men, and took off. It was quickly apparent that he would have trouble getting out of the valley, and with one last desperate pull up to clear the ridge, he stalled the plane into the tops of the trees. Tom, the other brother, said "Yup, this is right where we crashed last year, too..." -- 2:59 12 Dec 2006 BLT
