thanks sparkit

This is way to small of a section on your Talk page. So, with only about a thousand reasons I add my Thank You Jac 17:55, May 17, 2007 (AKDT)

Hi Jac!

Dang, that's fun :)

I was on the other night when Jim was celebrating a bit, and I announced my impending divorce...and everyone there got into the party atmosphere for a while. Blowing off a little e-steam, and making fun out of a tough situation.

She hasn't gotten on WWR in about a year, and rarely before that, but she did that night, and then I got an earful. So now it's low-key.

By the way, you don't exist. Just passing that on for your edification. ;) Take Care! --Bisbopelli 19:14, June 29, 2007 (AKDT)

Purely a matter of the opinion of one person...as in "you don't have any real friends, just imaginary ones." That's okay, I have a pretty strong imagination, so I think all you guys will survive for a while :) --Bisbot 10:34, July 13, 2007 (AKDT)
Seriously, Jac...do you think "instilling confidence" has ever been high on my priority list?
And who is that nutball in the photo you sent me? Never seen him before. --Bis

Heya Jac,

Thank you for listening to, and giving four stars to, my song "I Take You"! I really appreciate all feedback for my music, which emanates from deep down in my soul, or at the very least, from deep down in my weird mind!

Dear Jac! You have been very dear in the little time I've been here. You've always been very warm and open and made me feel welcome. Thanx for all your help and for showing me around the place! And for the lovely birthday message today. Hippywife 11:39, August 19, 2007 (AKDT)

Just saw your WWR blog entry from 9/17

Hi Jac -

I just happened upon your writeup about the concert... it just appeared in my Google Reader now. Anyhow - I loved your description... thanks! And thanks for all the kind and poetic words you've directed my way over the last coupla months. It's nice to have you around! Hugs, Esther Esther 20:45, September 25, 2007 (AKDT)

Compliment

11-29-07 ~1:30pm Jac - I'm gonna say this just once and don't you forget it okay? I enjoy your photos daily in my Google Reader. I'm not get all sappy and stuff, but most of them bring me to tears and then I wet my pants.

No, seriously, they capture something unspeakable. I truly do enjoy them --- spend a few seconds in their world and it calms me down. You strike me as an artist with a camera. Thanks for doing them. I'll probably never comment on 'em, but if they disappeared it would remove a moment of joy from my day.

There. You happy now? ;-)

Hi

I added RightTOC - obviously Revert if not wanted! Also, if you could help on my page, I can't find the problem. :-) so much for being an experienced wiki walker! hehe - Best, MarkDilley

Curious

Not to stir the pot but I was wondering what happened to Stickbender? I caught his page but is he banned?

Open In Another Window

Hey, this oughta be a DUH! question but I can't figure it out. When I update the link to an artist's webpage, how do I make it open in another window? Something akin to the target=window in html. Drives me nuts to open a really interesting page.... and then find out I've clicked my way into oblivion and have to spend all kindsa time getting back to where I started from. Plus, it's a guaranteed way to loose an enduser who just won't take the half-a-second to come back to WWR. Got a quick answer? :) Judy_Rosella 15:10, January 29, 2008 (AKST)

(...from chat...) I am sorry that I have not responded so far, but I have not played around with it much, but when using HTML I always did 'target=new', I guess the reason that I haven't played with it much is that with Firefox, I just 'scroll wheel click' to open in another tab. I never thought about Mac users that still prefer single click mouse's Jac 14:31, February 1, 2008 (AKST)

'Nother Q

I have looked around and not found the answer to this. Sometimes things appear on this Wiki with strikethrus. Like sometimes it is a user's name. Sometimes it is the link to Talk. Something some other menu item. Sometimes it is someone's IP. What the heck is that all about? Judy_Rosella 16:30, February 2, 2008 (AKST)

Hmm, I'll need to see an example, either I have not seen that, or have not noticed it, or not payed any attention to it :) Jac 16:36, February 2, 2008 (AKST)

WebMonX Instructions

Hey Jac - thanks for the instructions for WebMonX installation under linux. Worked like a dream under ubuntu ultimate 1.6! --Toddtyrtle 17:27, February 6, 2008 (AKST)

Hi Jac, I read back this morning on your big news and wanted to send you good wishes for a smooth transition into, what sounds to be, a rough time ahead for you. Dang, I wish our country helped out the small farmers and had the water worked out for them so that we could produce some diversified food choices. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You seem to have a lot going for you and are a kind, thoughtful and gentle man, so I'm sure you will be well planted where ever you land. ReWoven 09:30, February 8, 2008 (AKST)

Howdy Jac

Jac, the large Agri-conglomerate is behind the Kansas Lawsuit. Ask yourself, why would an Agri-corp want with farmland they can't irrigate? The present situation does however help make the purchasing price of that Colorado farmland more lucrative for them. It is all about farm busting, eradicating the small farmer. Right about the time Big Ag owns about 80 percent of Colorado Farmland that lawsuit will mysteriously disappear. Kazookid 13:09, February 8, 2008 (AKST)

(I can never think of a headline.)

Jac, thanks for the thanks. My work here is going to slow down soon--I have actual paying gigs coming up. And I'm not sure I should be getting points for being obsessive. :-) But it just seems as if when something needs doing, everybody should pitch in.

Happy Meatloaf,
Martha/Mert

Thanks

Hey, Jac. I'm not sure what you had in mind to suggest for my user page, but it was a kick in the pants for me to change the photos to a gallery. Added some, too.

Happy Wednesday, I think,
Mert

Sexy????!!! hahahahaha Thank you just the same, Jac. lol ReWoven (talk) 20:22, March 20, 2008 (AKDT)

The GIMP

Thanks for those video links for the GIMP! To tell the truth I learned most of what I know about it just from messing around with it; when I got an Intel based mac and Macromedia Fireworks was too slow to be useful anymore I found the GIMP and Inkscape were much faster alternatives, and they were free which is always good!

A friend of mine at university is actually doing a visual arts degree (as opposed to computer science which I'm doing... I'm always told I'm doing the dry, boring stuff!) and finds "GIMP 2 for Photographers" to be the best reference she's used so far.

The interface is certainly unline any other photo editing software out there, but for the price and availability (as you say, Linux and BSD too!) it's my favourite.

An alternative if you have any Photoshop experience is GIMPShop, it's basically standard GIMP but the designer changed the menus and icons around so they're in the same places as Photoshop! Can be a much gentler introduction to have things in familiar places :-).

Hope that was even just a bit useful, have fun and let me know if I can do anything else :-)
