Vista Gadget
From WWR
If you use Windows Vista, here's something for you. The WWR Vista Gadget! You might expect to pay $149.95 for software like this. But, because you're a WWR listener, it's yours for free.
It's a little program that sits in your Vista sidebar. It looks like this:
Click the play button, and you'll hear Whole Wheat Radio. Click the Stop button, and you'll no longer hear Whole Wheat Radio. But wait! There's more. Click any other part of the gadget and you'll see a "flyout" that shows info about the current song (hyperlinks). It also has links to the upcoming song list, and the chat page. It looks something like this:
If you click the Options button (visible only when you hover your mouse over the gadget), you won't get any options because this simple gadget has no options. Rather, you'll be treated to a quick overview of WWR and a photo of our hero. Like this:
Please give it a try, and let me know if you have any problems. If it turns out to be relatively error-free, I'll upload it to Windows Live, so millions of people will be able to download it.
Get your copy of the Med-Fi stream version here: WWR Vista Gadget. When you click the link, you should be prompted for what to do. It's easy to install, and it should work with no effort on your part. (Here is a WWR Vista Gadget set up for the Hi-Fi stream.)
I created this gadget just to get a feel for how they work. I learned a lot in the process, and I also have a useful tool.
